- DJ AM Tragedy

Adam Michael Goldstein, better known as DJ AM, 36 years old was found dead at his apartament 8 days ago. According to the New York Post, drugs were found in the place. The DJ's past is a prove of someone who really battled for life. Almost one year ago, Travis Barker, the Blink 182 drummer, and DJ AM were seriously injured when a Learjet 60 crashed during takeoff in South Carolina, which left four deaths. Also, the internacionally recognized DJ suffered from drug addiction, however, he had been sober for nine years before last Friday afternoon.

According to NBC New York, "DJ AM had not been heard from for a few says, and one of his friends went to check on him, but got no response after knocking on his apartment door, law-enforcement souces said. The friend then called the police, who broke into the apartment and found the DJ's body."

In addiction, some other sources affirm that the DJ "had been battling with depression lately. DJ AM thought the depression was a result of trying to stop taking pain medication since his tragic plane accident."

Finally, the worst part is that the DJ was overcoming his addiction and was working on a MTV show to help young people get sober. If you go to his webpage AM Now you can even see how Adam was a survival and fighter and, he was and still is an example. Even though I've never been quite a big fan of DJ AM, I already had listened to some of his musics and, just by listening you could tell that he had talent. He is, indeed, an example, to all those who have some sort of addiction; he used his own problem and solution, to help others to find a better way to live. To end up with, Mandy Moore released a statement about her loss. Says Mandy: "I am absolutely heartbroken. For those of us lucky enough to have known him, Adam radiated a contagious exuberance for life and also personified the very definition of a true friend. To say that he will be missed beyond words is an understatement. My heart goes out to his loved ones."
