- "Sonhar Acordado"

My post today is going to be about the event we had today, called Dia de Sonho. The "Sonhar Acordado" is an institution that, together with many volunteers, help many and many children to built up their future. So, today we went to the Hopi Hari park... We left Chapel around 9 in the morning, but I can't remember at what time we got there =/ Anyways, we needed to wait a couple of hours due to the distribution of kid (I know it sound weird, but there is no other way to
explain it hahaha), but we finally got to the line where each volunteer would receive a kid to take care of during the whole day. When it was my turn, I "received" an 8-year-old called Nicole, and she was really, really, really cute ! I couldn't wait to talk to her and take care of her... Luckily, her best friend Flávia wasgiven to Ana Carolina, and all of her friends were given to some of my friends, such as Caio, Carol, Malu and Marina... So we (us 12) decided that we would stick together as a group. We had loooooads of fun ! Especially when we were at the line waiting, where we danced, sang and did all these kind of stuff to entertain the kids ! We bought them food, we "died" their hair (and even ours...) with those colored sprays, we carried them, we gave them piggyback rides, and much more ! However, since the park wasn't closed for us, there were many other visitors and consequently, longer waiting lines... So we couldn't visit the whole park.. When it was 4 p.m., we had to go to the entrance, take photos, and say goodbye to our kids... Nicole was, again, really, really, really, really cute, and I wished I had more time to spend with her. We could all make really significant contact with our kids; I can surely say that we became friends with them. Finally, besides being exhausting sometimes, such as waiting HOURS at lines, running after the kids, we had a really good time and I can't wait to go again next year ! It is just an amazing experience that I will never forget =)

"aha, uhu, o Hopi Hari é nosso !"

To be honest, this week's post was actually going to be about another TMZ photo gallery... This, until I found something that totally freaked me out/almost made me sick. As some of you should know, the “pop star” (if she can be called one), Miley Cyrus made of her new music video a REALLY big deal (just as Gaga has made with Telephone) and it finally appeared on TV this week. When watching it, I didn’t know if I should laugh, I should cry, I should throw up or if I should break my computer. I personally hate Miley Cyrus since she started to hate the character that made her a celebrity; Hannah Montana. Not that I am obsessed or that I even like Hannah Montana, but I always agreed with the popular saying “don’t bite the hand that feeds you”. When Miley realized she was quite popular, she decided it was “time to change and to grow up because she was lot more mature and knew what she wanted for living”... COME ON ! She was only 16 and she was absolutely mature.. SUREEE ! Anyways, back to the video thing, besides having a terrible title, “I can’t be tamed” (I CAN’T BE TAMED!!!), and a horrifying singer, it also has awful lyrics such as “for those who don’t know me, I can get a bit crazy, have to get my way 24 hours a day. ‘Cause I’m hot like that, every guy everywhere just gives me mad attention like I’m under inspection, I always get the 10s ‘cause I’m built like that. (...) If you’re gonna be my man, undestand I can’t be tamed, I can’t be saved, I can’t be blamed, I can’t be changed, I can’t be tamed”. Now you got the point of throwing up. Also, Miley tried to act somehow like Lady Gaga... but it just doesn't work. NOT AT ALL. She just looks more ridiculous than she already is. Ah! By the way, the "story" behind it is that she is an unique BIRD (yes, she is TRYING, fail, to be a bird) that can't be tamed... LAME! It's just ridiculous and frustrating... Finally, for those who want, I ONLY recommend for those who want to laugh really hard, otherwise it will be a waste of time, to watch the video.. Here it goes, but I'm not sure if enjoy is quite an appropriate word...

- 'Memba Them?!

While searching on TMZ what I was going to write about, a very interesting section came across me. It is called "Memba Them?!" and it has many pictures of all those people we don't see anymore ! For example, do you remember little Jane Banks from the good and old "Marry Poppins"? Well, she is now a 52-year-old ! I personally found it amazing (beyond entertaining) and I was really glad they still give, at least a little bit, the recognition those people deserve... They tried their best to make our childhood fun,and nowadays, they are just put aside because producers only want "new faces". In addition, there are also some photos of celebrities who are still recognized today (Madonna, Fergie, and Queen Latifah), but I just put them because it is funny to compare who they were before and how they are now =) Finally, the last, but not least, photo is from Gleen McDuffie, the 91-year-old is the famous girl being kissed on the photo she is holding ! Amazing how people change right?! Well, enjoy !

- Hugh Hefner

Last week was Hugh Hefner's birthday, and the millionare just turned 84 years old ! Without losing his enthusiasm, Hefner threw a party in Las Vegas at the Palms Cassino Resort followed by "late-night good times at the Playboy Club" (E! Online). There is no need to say that his present, and former girlfriends, Crystal Harris, and Holly Madison, respectively, were there. The Playboy founder, and participant of the reality-show Girls Next Door, also known as Girls from the Playboy Mansion, really had a great time ! Details were not spoiled yet because, well... the party was just yesterday... But whenever it comes out, be sure I'll update you all =) In my opinion, the party must have been a great one, once it was filled with celebrities... In addition, I also believe that Hugh is one of the most influencial celebrities world wide, and I particularly love his character.

- MJ x Dr. Murray

Almost 10 months passed after Michael Jackson's death, and still, the case has no solution. The last accusation was that his doctor, Dr. Murray, had given MJ a lethal dose of Profopol, a drug Michael was already taking, consequently, causing the death of the idol. There is no need to say that most of MJ's fans, including myself, believe this what truly happened, however, there are those who still think MJ committed suicide. Some of these believers are, of course, Murray's lawyers. According to Perez Hilton, "sources say the defense plans to argue the fact that Dr. Murray only administered 25 mg of Propofol to MJ, but when he left the room to use the bathroom (for two minutes), Jackson self-injected the rest of the bottle (close to 20 ml) because he was 'frustrated'! The defense will also be arguing that MJ 'liked to push it' when it came to his sleeping meds". The date of the trial isn't set yet, but I personally can't wait to finally find out who killed the pop-star Michael Jackson.

- South Park

As all the 10th graders know, during English class we are reading J.D. Salinger's classic novel, The Catcher in the Rye. Sadly, the writer was found dead January 27th of this year... This tragedy besides being a loss to many people, was also an inspiration for a particular animated sitcom... South Park, is already known for its satirical and dark humor when criticizing something, or someone. In this particular episode, the students are assigned to read The Catcher in the Rye and are told by their teacher that many schools do not keep this book in their list due to its content and inappropriate language/scenes... This is enough to make Stan, Kyle, Eric and Kenny eager to read it. When they finally make through the book, they are in pure disappointment because the book lacks really inappropriate scenes and then, start to criticize, in their unique way, how stupid it is to banish this book... If you want to see the whole episode, in which they decide to write a really obscene book, go to South Park Studios =) Enjoy

- Lady Gaga again

As last week's post, today's post will be about the talented freaky Lady Gaga. As I previously said about her new video, Telephone (check the post below), it is REALLY making success ! It has already passed the mark of 2,600,000 views only on Youtube ! Of course a video like this embraces all kinds of critiques, both good and bad. There is no need to say that Gaga's fans were absolutely in shock and in love for the pseudo-movie, however, we can't say that for all the fans out there. For instance, Black Eyed Peas' fans were also in shock, but not a good shock... They were, and still are, convicted that the freaky Gaga plagiarized the video "Imma Be" due to the 'story' and images resemblance (both videos have parts in which the characters are in road trips). In my opinion, this is mere coincidence because there is no way Lady Gaga could produce the same video as BEP, once the difference between the videos' release is only about 1 or 2 weeks. Also, there are many other videos in which there are road trips and luncheonettes, so it ain't quite plagiarizing...

But the rumors don't end there ! Some people also say that the Blonde plagiarized some of her outfits... This I'm not sure about, but I think there is at least a little steal in there. Of course coincidences happen, but the outfits are way too similar...

So what do YOU think ?! Is Lady Gaga a plagiarizer or she just has some really bad luck !?

- Lady Gaga

There is no need to say that we can expect anything from Gaga... However, we can't help but feel in absolute shock when we see something new from her. This time was her video world premiere (yes, it had a world premiere !) for the music Telephone, featuring the diva Beyoncé. This is the second song (and according to the video, not the last one) both sing together (the first one was Videophone, which by the way, is an excellent music). Even though the music was out for a while, the video for Telephone only had its premiere last week and it lasts for almost 10 minutes ! Yes, 10 minutes of pure craziness of Lady Gaga. It was directed by Jonas Akerlund and it is kind of a continuation of the video clip Paparazzi, in which Gaga kills her boyfriend or whatever that guy is. I already watched the video and I was blown out of my mind, it is absolutely insane ! It also has some really, let's say remarkable scenes... Anyway, it starts with Gaga being arrested and in jail, then it leads us to some kind of restaurant where she is dancing while cooking (?!) and then she and Beyoncé run away after killing everyone that was in that place... Really freaky, but what can I say!? Its GAGA ! Finally, for those who want to check out the video (I strongly encourage only those who like Lady Gaga hahaha otherwise it will be kind of a waste of time due to absolutely no understanding) here it is.. I hope you enjoy it =)

- Nicholas Sparks

As the previous post was about Dear John, I decided that this post should be about Nicholas Sparks. I personally love him and think he is an exceptional writer ! He wrote books such as The Guardian, Message in a Bottle, Nights in Rodanthe, A Walk to Remember, Dear John, The Last Song and The Notebook. The last 4 respectively, were actually bestselling and the last 6 have been turned into movies. His books are mostly romance evolving fate and tragedy. He is now 44 years old and his first published book, which is The Notebook, was when he was 30 years old. After The Notebook's success, Sparks published more 14 books and is a continuos write. He basically publishes one book at each year, which makes all his fans really glad ! I've already read A Walk to Remember and The Notebook, (and I'm waiting anxiously to read Dear John) and I strongly recommend for those who like romance. PS: not only the books but also the movies (they will really make you cry) ! Sparks is not only an awesome writer, but is also a role model. He is always donating money, contributing to charities and seeking help for those who need it... Anyway, he is now writing two more books/screenplays (because they are in the process of being made into movies) called True Believer and The Lucky One. Last, as a huge fan, I'm really excited for the outcome because I know it will be great =)

- Dear John

After seven weeks being the most watched movie, Avatar was finally replaced by Lasse Hallström's Dear John. On it's premiere, Dear John surprised everyone and obtained more than 32,4 million of dollars (only on it's premiere) ! The movie is based on Nicholas Sparks' novel, which has the same title, and tells the story of an American soldier who falls in love with a girl and their love is put in test when the army recruits him and force them to be apart. During the time they are away from each other, they keep sending letters one to the other. These so called Dear John letters were invented during the World War II and were actually "goodbye letters" It was basically sent from wives to husbands or boyfriends telling them their relationship was over because they decided to start a new relationship with another man rather than wait for the other one to come back. According to Wikipedia, the letters started with Dear John because John was a very common name. Anyway, I never saw the movie because it is only available at the U.S, however I've already seen the trailer and I fell in love for it. On the other hand, my friend Ana, while she was somewhere in the U.S, watched it and she said it is a great movie, but its ending completely messes up with the whole story. I still want to see it, even though I know I'll be disappointed at the end. As it is a Nicholas Sparks' novel, its already obvious that the story is heart-breaking and completely "cryable" hahahaha. I almost cried when watching the trailer and it has never happened to me so I believe is quite worth watching ! Finally, for those interested, check the video below =)

- Carnaval

As traditional, Brazil always has this huge party called Carnaval. For most people, it is time to have a break from school, work or whatever you are doing... But for other people, it is the time to work hard, really hard ! Our so called Escolas de Samba always have this time to present many and many "alegorias", which I frankly don't understand why the hell they do that, portraying something, which I also don't understand how/why they choose it, historical, or not. For instance, if the Escola decides the theme to be the discovery of Brazil, each alegoria would be something remarkable, as the natives, the ships and etc... It is also kind of nice to watch all the colors, the costumes, the dances... On the other hand, these communities spend loads and loads of money just to compete for a prize... nice! I wonder how the government feels about it... Anyway, this years winner was Unidos da Tijuca, which had quite of a good presentation (I really don't know how to judge this or even how the judges judge it!) with many surprises... I don't understand the theme at all, but when watching the desfile, I could see an alegoria of super-heros such as Spiderman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and another alegoria of magicians, which I believe was the cause for the success of the group. In this category, there were some women dressed in dresses, but then, when "purpurina" was thrown over them, their dresses changed color and style ! From the beginning to end, people were trying to figure out how they did that, and the dresses and styles continue changing ! It was really amazing/awkward/frustrating to watch that ! (You can check it out in the video below) Finally, from my very basic understanding, I believe that they have deserved the title... Don't forget to check the video =)

- Beyoncé

Completing the previous post that was about Grammys/Beyoncé, this post is about Beyonce's show here in Brazil. As HUGE fans, my sister and I couldn't miss the show... It would be one of the greatest shows Beyonce had ever done... and it was ! The show happened in the 6th and took place at the Estádio do Morumbi, which can hold 60 thousand people and the prices varied between 70 reais and 600 reais... All the tickets were sold ! I fortunately got my ticket in time =) Ivete Sangalo, one of the greatest singer in Brazil, opened the show with a 50 minute performance, making all those present, jump and sing to her songs. Afterwards, it was Beyoncé's time to cheer the brazilian crowd. There is no need to say who INSANE people became when the diva appeared... We all danced, screamed, and were also those who cried (ok theeeen) during performances such as Halo, If I Were a Boy and these emotional songs. The show lasted more than 2 hours and Beyonce made everyone crave for more with her moves, amazing voice and awesome charisma; she even sang happy birthday to a guy holding a ENORMOUS poster saying it was his b-day (how obvious). The show was part of her "I am..." tour and also had performances at Florianópolis, Rio de Janeiro and to end up with, Salvador. It was a breathtaking show, which I would undoubtedly go (again) if Beyonce returned here =)

The ending of the show even had a tribute to Michael Jackson, enjoy !

- 2O1O Grammy Awards

As most of you should know, this year already began quite EXCELLENT to many celebrities. The 2010 Grammy Awards was, in my opinion, one of the best I ever saw. Not only because most of my favorite celebrities were out there, or even because of the stunning and shocking (for those who saw Lady Gaga...) dresses, but definitely because of the amazing live presentations ! The night was absolutely insane, specially for two stars; Beyonce and Taylor Swift. Taylor Swift was nominated to 8 awards while Beyonce was indicated to 10 Grammys! From these 10 Grammys, Beyonce won 6, making of her the winner of the night...

The video below is Beyonce's presentation of "If I Were A Boy".
