- Lady Gaga again

As last week's post, today's post will be about the talented freaky Lady Gaga. As I previously said about her new video, Telephone (check the post below), it is REALLY making success ! It has already passed the mark of 2,600,000 views only on Youtube ! Of course a video like this embraces all kinds of critiques, both good and bad. There is no need to say that Gaga's fans were absolutely in shock and in love for the pseudo-movie, however, we can't say that for all the fans out there. For instance, Black Eyed Peas' fans were also in shock, but not a good shock... They were, and still are, convicted that the freaky Gaga plagiarized the video "Imma Be" due to the 'story' and images resemblance (both videos have parts in which the characters are in road trips). In my opinion, this is mere coincidence because there is no way Lady Gaga could produce the same video as BEP, once the difference between the videos' release is only about 1 or 2 weeks. Also, there are many other videos in which there are road trips and luncheonettes, so it ain't quite plagiarizing...

But the rumors don't end there ! Some people also say that the Blonde plagiarized some of her outfits... This I'm not sure about, but I think there is at least a little steal in there. Of course coincidences happen, but the outfits are way too similar...

So what do YOU think ?! Is Lady Gaga a plagiarizer or she just has some really bad luck !?

- Lady Gaga

There is no need to say that we can expect anything from Gaga... However, we can't help but feel in absolute shock when we see something new from her. This time was her video world premiere (yes, it had a world premiere !) for the music Telephone, featuring the diva Beyoncé. This is the second song (and according to the video, not the last one) both sing together (the first one was Videophone, which by the way, is an excellent music). Even though the music was out for a while, the video for Telephone only had its premiere last week and it lasts for almost 10 minutes ! Yes, 10 minutes of pure craziness of Lady Gaga. It was directed by Jonas Akerlund and it is kind of a continuation of the video clip Paparazzi, in which Gaga kills her boyfriend or whatever that guy is. I already watched the video and I was blown out of my mind, it is absolutely insane ! It also has some really, let's say remarkable scenes... Anyway, it starts with Gaga being arrested and in jail, then it leads us to some kind of restaurant where she is dancing while cooking (?!) and then she and Beyoncé run away after killing everyone that was in that place... Really freaky, but what can I say!? Its GAGA ! Finally, for those who want to check out the video (I strongly encourage only those who like Lady Gaga hahaha otherwise it will be kind of a waste of time due to absolutely no understanding) here it is.. I hope you enjoy it =)

- Nicholas Sparks

As the previous post was about Dear John, I decided that this post should be about Nicholas Sparks. I personally love him and think he is an exceptional writer ! He wrote books such as The Guardian, Message in a Bottle, Nights in Rodanthe, A Walk to Remember, Dear John, The Last Song and The Notebook. The last 4 respectively, were actually bestselling and the last 6 have been turned into movies. His books are mostly romance evolving fate and tragedy. He is now 44 years old and his first published book, which is The Notebook, was when he was 30 years old. After The Notebook's success, Sparks published more 14 books and is a continuos write. He basically publishes one book at each year, which makes all his fans really glad ! I've already read A Walk to Remember and The Notebook, (and I'm waiting anxiously to read Dear John) and I strongly recommend for those who like romance. PS: not only the books but also the movies (they will really make you cry) ! Sparks is not only an awesome writer, but is also a role model. He is always donating money, contributing to charities and seeking help for those who need it... Anyway, he is now writing two more books/screenplays (because they are in the process of being made into movies) called True Believer and The Lucky One. Last, as a huge fan, I'm really excited for the outcome because I know it will be great =)

- Dear John

After seven weeks being the most watched movie, Avatar was finally replaced by Lasse Hallström's Dear John. On it's premiere, Dear John surprised everyone and obtained more than 32,4 million of dollars (only on it's premiere) ! The movie is based on Nicholas Sparks' novel, which has the same title, and tells the story of an American soldier who falls in love with a girl and their love is put in test when the army recruits him and force them to be apart. During the time they are away from each other, they keep sending letters one to the other. These so called Dear John letters were invented during the World War II and were actually "goodbye letters" It was basically sent from wives to husbands or boyfriends telling them their relationship was over because they decided to start a new relationship with another man rather than wait for the other one to come back. According to Wikipedia, the letters started with Dear John because John was a very common name. Anyway, I never saw the movie because it is only available at the U.S, however I've already seen the trailer and I fell in love for it. On the other hand, my friend Ana, while she was somewhere in the U.S, watched it and she said it is a great movie, but its ending completely messes up with the whole story. I still want to see it, even though I know I'll be disappointed at the end. As it is a Nicholas Sparks' novel, its already obvious that the story is heart-breaking and completely "cryable" hahahaha. I almost cried when watching the trailer and it has never happened to me so I believe is quite worth watching ! Finally, for those interested, check the video below =)

- Carnaval

As traditional, Brazil always has this huge party called Carnaval. For most people, it is time to have a break from school, work or whatever you are doing... But for other people, it is the time to work hard, really hard ! Our so called Escolas de Samba always have this time to present many and many "alegorias", which I frankly don't understand why the hell they do that, portraying something, which I also don't understand how/why they choose it, historical, or not. For instance, if the Escola decides the theme to be the discovery of Brazil, each alegoria would be something remarkable, as the natives, the ships and etc... It is also kind of nice to watch all the colors, the costumes, the dances... On the other hand, these communities spend loads and loads of money just to compete for a prize... nice! I wonder how the government feels about it... Anyway, this years winner was Unidos da Tijuca, which had quite of a good presentation (I really don't know how to judge this or even how the judges judge it!) with many surprises... I don't understand the theme at all, but when watching the desfile, I could see an alegoria of super-heros such as Spiderman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and another alegoria of magicians, which I believe was the cause for the success of the group. In this category, there were some women dressed in dresses, but then, when "purpurina" was thrown over them, their dresses changed color and style ! From the beginning to end, people were trying to figure out how they did that, and the dresses and styles continue changing ! It was really amazing/awkward/frustrating to watch that ! (You can check it out in the video below) Finally, from my very basic understanding, I believe that they have deserved the title... Don't forget to check the video =)

- Beyoncé

Completing the previous post that was about Grammys/Beyoncé, this post is about Beyonce's show here in Brazil. As HUGE fans, my sister and I couldn't miss the show... It would be one of the greatest shows Beyonce had ever done... and it was ! The show happened in the 6th and took place at the Estádio do Morumbi, which can hold 60 thousand people and the prices varied between 70 reais and 600 reais... All the tickets were sold ! I fortunately got my ticket in time =) Ivete Sangalo, one of the greatest singer in Brazil, opened the show with a 50 minute performance, making all those present, jump and sing to her songs. Afterwards, it was Beyoncé's time to cheer the brazilian crowd. There is no need to say who INSANE people became when the diva appeared... We all danced, screamed, and were also those who cried (ok theeeen) during performances such as Halo, If I Were a Boy and these emotional songs. The show lasted more than 2 hours and Beyonce made everyone crave for more with her moves, amazing voice and awesome charisma; she even sang happy birthday to a guy holding a ENORMOUS poster saying it was his b-day (how obvious). The show was part of her "I am..." tour and also had performances at Florianópolis, Rio de Janeiro and to end up with, Salvador. It was a breathtaking show, which I would undoubtedly go (again) if Beyonce returned here =)

The ending of the show even had a tribute to Michael Jackson, enjoy !

- 2O1O Grammy Awards

As most of you should know, this year already began quite EXCELLENT to many celebrities. The 2010 Grammy Awards was, in my opinion, one of the best I ever saw. Not only because most of my favorite celebrities were out there, or even because of the stunning and shocking (for those who saw Lady Gaga...) dresses, but definitely because of the amazing live presentations ! The night was absolutely insane, specially for two stars; Beyonce and Taylor Swift. Taylor Swift was nominated to 8 awards while Beyonce was indicated to 10 Grammys! From these 10 Grammys, Beyonce won 6, making of her the winner of the night...

The video below is Beyonce's presentation of "If I Were A Boy".

- Taylor Lautner

Today's post is specially written for Taylor Lautner's fans (I'm surely one of those). The werewolf of the Twilight Saga will now become a superhuman! Taylor was cast to be the main character of the Max Steel movie. According to the Mattel franchise Taylor will perform the story of a "19-year-old extreme sports junkie recruited by a secret agency after an accident infects his body, leaving him with superhuman powers". In my opinion, Mattel couldn't have made a better choice. Lautner is, undoubtedly, one of the most dedicated actors I have ever seen. Since he was a child, he already showed respect and dedication to this career when performing Eliot in "Cheaper by the Dozen 2" (it was then, that I also became his fan). However, he was officially known as a zealous actor last year, when he gained 30 pounds of pure muscle just to play Jacob Black in New Moon. I truly wish him good luck for his work, in which I also know he will make an excellent job =)

- Celine Dion

Sad news for Celine Dion's fans. The songstress' husband anounced that "they are no longer expecting a child". Celine got pregnant through an in vitro experience and was supposed to give birth in May. She has an 8 year-old son, named Reene-Charles, but last year she also revealed that she would love to extend the family... These are really sad news and I bet the whole family is heartbroken. However, I believe that Celine (and her family) will be strong enough to let go of this and continue to create awesome music as she always does. I personally love her music style and my favorite tracks are "Because You Love Me" and Titanic's soundtrack, "My Heart Will Go On". Keep strong Dion =)

- Sorín

As some of you should know, last Wednesday was Sorín's last game. Not only for Cruzeiro, but for his whole career. "With 62.400 fans present in Mineirão, Sorín entered in camp for his last time with the blue shirt against Argentino Juniors (the team that revealed him) won by Cruzeiro by 2 to 1" (Globoesporte). As a player who made history in the blue team, Sorín, deservedly, had his foot modeled for the 'Calçada da Fama do Mineirão'. He also won a card which will aloud him to be present at all games, for free. In addition, while the players were warming up, the Brazilian band 'Skank', led by the Cruzeirense vocal Samuel Rosa, played to cheer the crowd up. Gabriel O Pensador (another musician) also was there singing.

During the first half, Sorín played all the 45 minutes for the blue team. He also had two chances of scoring a goal, but the ball went out. When the second half started, he was playing for Argentinos Juniors, but he continued with the bottom part of the uniform of Cruzeiro. Finally, at 15 of the second half, Sorín was going to play again, and for the last time, for Cruzeiro. It was both sad and happy at the same time... And Sorín left the field saying that it "was wonderful to end up here. I love this team. It means so much to me." Aww hahaha I'm glad to say 'We are going to miss you' =')

PS: The whole money raised for this game went to charity, so did the food (some of the tickets could be bought by exchanging 2kg of non-perishable food).

- A True Competition

Today's post was supposed to be about Brazilian's entertainment, football, and mostly about Sorín's (Cruzeiro's player) last game. However, I will leave it for the next post because today there is something making me go crazy. As most of you should know, the Brazilian Championship is already ending and the champion isn't defined yet... Not only the champion but also those who are going to the Libertadores 2010. The table starts with the leader São Paulo, with 59 points and right after is Palmeiras with only one point of difference. Then it is Atlético MG (56), Flamengo(54), Internacional (52) and my favorite, Cruzeiro(51). Even though being the leader is the most important at this phase of the competition, being part of the G4 (the top 4) is extremely essential. Cruzeiro really needs to win today’s game against Sport to be classified. The same for Inter, which will play tomorrow against Barueri.

As a Cruzeirense, I am absolutely nervous about today’s game. Even though my team has the greatest percentage in winning outside home, it will be a tough game. Sport will be fighting to leave the Z4 (bottom 4) and Cruzeiro needs to keep in mind the G4. In addition, Cruzeiro also has three great players injured, making us, Cruzeiro’s fans, go insane about it. On the other hand, we finally have Kleber, our Gladiator, back from a surgery… Again, this game is making me crazy ! I really hope, with all my heart, that my team wins today. With today's victory and tomorrow's Flamengo's loss, Cruzeiro will finally be part of the G4. “Vamos vamos Cruzeiro, Cruzeiro guerreiro, Cruzeiro meu amor…”

- Britney Spears

Britney Spears is back - once more - with a number one song and is giving fans another glimpse of the video for the new tune; '3.' On her Website (photo was taken there), Britney revealed that the wait to see her new video is almost over. "1...2...3 days until the premier of my new video but don't stress, I will be sending out lots of pics and clips for the next 3 days," she wrote.

Earlier this month, Spears published the releasing of the video '3' by posting some behind the scenes photos from the video shoot, and I can guarantee, it worked.

I personally think that Britney is a great singer and even though she passed through some difficulties in life, she is strong enough to let it go and live her life. I am really happy with her come-back and certainly anxious to hear her future songs, such as '3'
.

- The Big Bang Theory

Today's post is about a great TV show called "The Big Bang Theory". The American sitcom was created in 2007 by Chuck Lorre (also the producer of "Two and a Half Men") and Bill Prady already won the best comedy series TCA (Television Critics Association) award. The program already counts with 3 seasons telling the story of "a woman who moves into an apartment next door to two brilliant but socially awkward physicits shows them how little they know about life outside of the laboratory" (IMDB). Personally, this is one of my favorites sitcoms ever ! The way Sheldon (one of the main characters) is totally disconnected of his social environment is absolutely hilarious ! The video above shows Sheldon after Howard gives him some of his mother's valium... It is, indeed, one of the most funny (and priceless) videos/episodes I have ever watched. Enjoy =)

- Rafinha Bastos

Changing the routine... Today's post is about one, GREAT, Brazilian comedian; Rafinha Bastos. For those who don't know him, just google him. I guarantee you, you won't regret it. Rafinha Bastos is known as a comedian (even though he studied journalism) for about 10 years, however, only last year he became famous. Through the Brazilian program, CQC (“Custe o Que Custar”), Rafinha Bastos was nationally recognized for his humor talent. Nowadays, besides working only in CQC, he has his own stand-up comedy show and has already participated in another famous comedy show called “Os Improváveis”.

I can assure that he is one of the bests (if not the one) comedians ever… His “trocadilhos” are just hilarious! For instance, in one of his presentations, which I was able (and luckily) to go, he jokes about the ceremony of marriage; “the saddest day in a man’s life is the one in which he is getting married… It is not coincidence that while the woman dresses white, he is in black… Also, the man is never fully satisfied; when he is single he wants to get married. When he is married he wants to die...” And so it goes...

If you speak or at least understand Portuguese, I strongly encourage you to watch the video above. Also, feel free to search in Youtube for more videos, there are plenty of them in which you can laugh until your stomach hurts. At least thats what happens to me...hahahaha. Hope you all enjoy it =)

- StumbleUpon

Today's post is actually a recommendation for all those who sometimes get really bored with the same old visited websites. The website StumbleUpon is, indeed, an excellent site to visit when you are searching for different news and posts. Divided into sections such as News, Arts, Photos, Videos, Lifestyle, Fun, Science, Technology and much more, StumbleUpon is one of my favorite sites. I first visited it when my friend Caroline wanted to show me... something that I can't quite remember. However, I must tell I got completely addicted. In StumbleUpon you can search for basically anything, places to travel, ice cube formats, extraordinary images and etc. I sincerely don't have a favorite category because I really can't choose only one. Posts such as the man who tries to pay his bill with a drawing, the unusual ice cube formats, facebook do's and don'ts and much (I mean, MUUUUUUCH) more are examples of how StumbleUpon is one of the best ways of spending time when you are totally bored while surfing on the internet. Enjoy =)

- Blue Injustice

It is not the first time in this year... Once again, the outragerous Brazilian's arbitration was capable of ruining a critical match this Wednesday. Cruzeiro and Palmeiras. The first one fight for a place in Libertadores, the second one for the first place and consequently, the title of Campeão Brasileiro. To a Cruzeirense’s disappointment and frustration, the incompetent and bastard arbiter Evando Rogério Roman lead the blue time to total disgrace in a matter of minutes and innumerable errors. The game was really an exciting one, and to my pleasure, Cruzeiro had most of ball’s possession. 6 minutes of game, Kleber with his proficiency tries to score, however, he is SOWEHOW stopped, pulled and falls inside the area. Penalty (We wish so). First error. Roman does not react to the incident, instead, he says the game should proceed. The crowd goes wild. But the blue team doesn’t ever give up. Even though favoritism was already being detected, our ‘Guerreiros’ continued to play beautifully as they always (or almost always) play. Pa-pa, we score and they score. Fault on Kleber… As always. Fault on Kleber… Fault on Kleber again. I could go on and on but this is not the focus. Again, this was really an exciting game. This was a game, until the unprepared, useless arbiter decided to act in favor of Palmeiras again. At the end of the first half, when Fabricio positioned inside of the area was ready to score a beautiful goal, showing that even with the scrupulous care of the arbiter to defend the opponent, we could win, Souza entered at his front, interfered at his kick and threw him at the grass. Well, we could, if it wasn’t for the miserable Roman, which once again did not count this obvious fault worth the maximum punishment, penalty. From this point on, Máfia Azul was furious, “Ei juíz vai toma no…” and the rest you all know. However, we did not stop cheering for our Paixão Celeste ! The first half went on and finaly finished. 1x1 due to arbitrage incompetency. The second half started, our players had total moral support from all fans at Mineirão and were showing voraciousness for our second goal. Sadly, due to one defense mistake, Palmeiras reacts and scores their second goal. Honestly, it even helped encouraging our players. Without further sadness, our players continued to react. Bad luck was all over us. We tried and tried to score, but unfortunately, the ball wouldn’t tremble the net (Palmeirenses would say it was because of Marcos, their goalie... Their mistake, purely bad luck). Again, we had most of ball’s possession. From time to time Palmeiras decided to attack but they wouldn’t pass our players or even would just give up. It was just simply amazing how brutal the green players were once they realized they were being threatened. This leads us to Roman’s third major error. Armero, a player from the opposite team, who already had received others yellow cards, made a fault inside the area. This was supposed to be Cruzeiro’s third or even first penalty kick, however, once again, Roman was incompetent enough to misunderstand the play and only expel Armero. After another injustice, our players attacked all time possible. A sequence of offensive plays happened, but we were unluckily enough to don’t score a single goal.

Finally, an observation to some Palmeirenses who believe this game was a significant one: It must be really futile for a Palmeirense to be proud of this game. It does not only show how useless they are, but also, how pathetic it is to be proud of a game in which an arbiter had to be involved so they could succeed. Even though we lost, at least I’m proud to say that we played better, proud to be Cruzeiro.

I strongly encourage all readers to access this link and read the letter Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's president, Zezé Perrella wrote about the poor actuation of Evandro Rogério Roman.

- The Ugly Truth

The Ugly Truth it is now at the screens ! The movie is basically a sex war in which a show producer is "reluctantly embroiled in a series of outrageous tests by her chauvinistic correspondent" (Official trailer information) to prove his theories about relationships and help her to find her true love.

I personally cannot give an opinion about it, once I hadn't watch it yet. However, I am really anxious to watch it because I'm both movie and Katherine Heighl lover. Her performance first surprised me at Grey's Anatomy, where she plays Izzie Stevens, which is also another woman who fights over love problems. Also, as the movie 27 Dresses, which also casts Heighl, The Ugly Truth promises to be a successful romantic comedy.

- VMA Incident

As most of you should already know, the MTV's famous celebration, VMA (Video and Music Arts) awards, happened last week. With presences such as Lady Gaga, Pink, Taylor Lautner, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Janet Jackson and much more, the even was, indeed, a success. Mostly. After some nominations, Taylor Swift, won over some other popstars, such as Beyonce, the award of Best Female Video of Year. In the middle of Taylor's acceptance speech, Kanye West takes out her microfone and says: "Hey Taylor, I'm really happy for you and I'll let you finish [speech] but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time! One of the best videos of all time!" and leaves the stage. Cute Beyonce, on the other hand, looks just as ashamed as Taylor and makes no sign of understanding or even appreciating what is going on. In response of what happened Taylor just states that "I was really excited because it was my first award and really excited because Kanye West was on the stage... And then, I wasn't so excited anymore.
Taylor, are there any heart feelings?
I don't know him and I never met him..."

Some sources affirm Kanye was drunk before the nominations, what could have lead this incident. Finally, I think Kanye West could have kept it to himself, even though he might think this was a sign of admiration of the diva Beyonce. Also, he was no longer respectful and was absolutely arrogant, leading the Taylor's award night to almost a nightmare.

- DJ AM Tragedy

Adam Michael Goldstein, better known as DJ AM, 36 years old was found dead at his apartament 8 days ago. According to the New York Post, drugs were found in the place. The DJ's past is a prove of someone who really battled for life. Almost one year ago, Travis Barker, the Blink 182 drummer, and DJ AM were seriously injured when a Learjet 60 crashed during takeoff in South Carolina, which left four deaths. Also, the internacionally recognized DJ suffered from drug addiction, however, he had been sober for nine years before last Friday afternoon.

According to NBC New York, "DJ AM had not been heard from for a few says, and one of his friends went to check on him, but got no response after knocking on his apartment door, law-enforcement souces said. The friend then called the police, who broke into the apartment and found the DJ's body."

In addiction, some other sources affirm that the DJ "had been battling with depression lately. DJ AM thought the depression was a result of trying to stop taking pain medication since his tragic plane accident."

Finally, the worst part is that the DJ was overcoming his addiction and was working on a MTV show to help young people get sober. If you go to his webpage AM Now you can even see how Adam was a survival and fighter and, he was and still is an example. Even though I've never been quite a big fan of DJ AM, I already had listened to some of his musics and, just by listening you could tell that he had talent. He is, indeed, an example, to all those who have some sort of addiction; he used his own problem and solution, to help others to find a better way to live. To end up with, Mandy Moore released a statement about her loss. Says Mandy: "I am absolutely heartbroken. For those of us lucky enough to have known him, Adam radiated a contagious exuberance for life and also personified the very definition of a true friend. To say that he will be missed beyond words is an understatement. My heart goes out to his loved ones."
